Bill Wootan

 Bill was born and raised in Indiana, a Purdue University alum, has a family of 5 children and 15 grandchildren. He spent 25 years of his real estate career in Georgia and at one time owned 6 offices with over 300 agents.

Bill earned his GRI (Graduate, REALTORS^® Institute) designation by attending three week-long training classes! He also earned the IS (Investment Specialist) designation by attending eight week long classes in various locations around the US, covering all types of commercial real estate!  He has been an agent, sales manager, sales trainer (10 years teaching Dale Carnegie Sales Courses), Broker and Owner.

Bill sold his offices in Georgia to the agents, retired, and after meeting and marrying Sharon Carpenter, moved to Maryland. Sharon was also in Real Estate in Maryland, and after his short retirement, Bill went back into the business. He knows the business from all sides, and can serve every real estate need as a real estate expert!

Bill and Sharon are very active in their church, both serving as Sunday school teachers, and serving on many committees, Sharon as chair of a building committee, and Bill serves as the Potomac Baptist Association's REALTOR^®.  Reading, watching sports (particularly his beloved Southern Maryland Blue Crabs) and golf are his favorite pastimes.

Bill serves on the Commercial Alliance Committee of the Maryland Association of REALTORS^®  and on the Southern Maryland Association of REALTORS^®  Commercial Committee.

Specialization

Bill specializes in representing clients in the purchase and sale of any type of business, land and income producing properties within Southern Maryland, particularly Charles, St. Mary’s, Calvert and Prince George’s Counties.  He has sold and leased many seafood, Chinese, Mexican, and fast food restaurants. “In my 34 years, I’ve listed and sold just about everything imaginable – I love the business, and I can’t imagine doing anything else.  I’m known as Bill Wootan, The Real Estate Man!”
